User-based key frame detection in social web video
نویسنده
چکیده
Video search results and suggested videos on web sites are represented with a video thumbnail, which is manually selected by the video up-loader among three randomly generated ones (e.g., YouTube). In contrast, we present a grounded user-based approach for automatically detecting interesting key-frames within a video through aggregated users’ replay interactions with the video player. Previous research has focused on content-based systems that have the benefit of analyzing a video without user interactions, but they are monolithic, because the resulting video thumbnails are the same regardless of the user preferences. We constructed a user interest function, which is based on aggregate video replays, and analyzed hundreds of user interactions. We found that the local maximum of the replaying activity stands for the semantics of information rich videos, such as lecture, and how-to. The concept of user-based key-frame detection could be applied to any video on the web, in order to generate a user-based and dynamic video thumbnail in search results. Author

Action Change Detection in Video Based on HOG
Background and Objectives: Action recognition, as the processes of labeling an unknown action of a query video, is a challenging problem, due to the event complexity, variations in imaging conditions, and intra- and inter-individual action-variability. A number of solutions proposed to solve action recognition problem. Many of these frameworks suppose that each video sequence includes only one ...
متن کاملPrototyping Video Games with Animation
This paper outlines a proposed design for StorySketch, a new video game storyboarding system. StorySketch borrows ideas from the K-Sketch animation sketching system, which allows short animations to be created in minutes or seconds. We build on K-Sketch in four ways. key frame animation capabilities, a branching timeline view, microphone and web-cam support, and hooks to connect to online game ...
متن کاملVisualizing Multimedia Content on Paper Documents: Components of Key Frame Selection for Video Paper
The components of a key frame selection algorithm for a paper-based multimedia browsing interface called Video Paper are described. Analysis of video image frames is combined with the results of processing the closed caption to select key frames that are printed on a paper document together with the closed caption. Bar codes positioned near the key frames allow a user to play the video from the...
متن کاملVideo-based face recognition in color space by graph-based discriminant analysis
Video-based face recognition has attracted significant attention in many applications such as media technology, network security, human-machine interfaces, and automatic access control system in the past decade. The usual way for face recognition is based upon the grayscale image produced by combining the three color component images. In this work, we consider grayscale image as well as color s...
متن کاملVideo Abstraction in H.264/AVC Compressed Domain
Video abstraction allows searching, browsing and evaluating videos only by accessing the useful contents. Most of the studies are using pixel domain, which requires the decoding process and needs more time and process consuming than compressed domain video abstraction. In this paper, we present a new video abstraction method in H.264/AVC compressed domain, AVAIF. The method is based on the norm...
